I use a Minolta X-700 as my main camera and was keeping my eye out for a second body. One day at the public darkroom I use somebody dropped off a bag full of old camera gear. Among the debris was a perfectly functional SRT-101 with a Rokkor 50mm lens and a still-functioning meter and the leather carrying cover. Aside from a small dent where it had been dropped, it is fine and it fits all Minolta manual-focus (MC or MD)lenses. It's a simple, basic camera with a hard metal body that makes it tough. The meter is an analog device with a needle in the viewfinder that indicates the light level. As you adjust the stop or shutter speed you line up the hash marks with the needle and this means you are set up to shoot. There are no automatic functions, which is fine as I rarely use them anyway. Now I can keep two bodies loaded with different types of film and carry one or two lenses around.
The only drawback is the old mercury battery, which isn't made anymore. When it dies, you can replace it with a hearing aid battery, but it will be off by a bit because the hearing aid battery is a slightly different voltage. Maybe you can find a better replacement cell.
This old Minolta equipment is quality stuff. In the late 60s Minolta was building them to be rugged rather than lightweight, and unlike the later X-700 or X-370, there is no fancy electronics to worry about.
